UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that the Government would impose a two-week quarantine on those entering the country by air. He said in his Sunday's speech: "This is not the time to end lockdown. To prevent re-infection from abroad, I am serving notice that it will soon be the time-with transmission significantly lower-to impose quarantine on people coming into this country by air. And of course we will be monitoring our progress locally, regionally, and nationally and if there are outbreaks, if there are problems, we will not hesitate to put on the brakes."
The authorities said that those who breaking the rules could face fines of up to £1,000 ($1,241), or deportation.

As of May 10, 2020 UK reported 219,663 cases; 31,855 UK citizens died of COVID-19. On Sunday Boris Johnson announced the three stages of easing lockdown rules.
Phase one will include unlimited exercise, outdoor sports and getting back to work.
Phase two will begin next month including primary students going back to school and some shops to be re-open.
Phase three, beginning in July at the earliest, could see the re-opening of hospitality firms.
Prime Minister thanked UK citizens for their “patience and common sense you have shown, the fortitude of the elderly whose isolation we all want to end as fast as we can, the incredible bravery and hard work of our NHS staff, our care workers, the devotion and self-sacrifice of all those in every walk of life who are helping us to beat this disease”. Johnson revealed the Governments' new slogan : “Stay alert, control the virus and save lives.”
