Greece Lifts Quarantine For US, EU and Other Countries

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed our lives in so many different ways. There is no industry which wasn't affected by this crisis but international travel got the hardest hit.

As summer season approaches, many countries are trying to figure out how to revive the travel industry.

Greece, one of the most popular travel destinations, lifted quarantine restrictions for travelers from most European countries, as well as Israel and the United States as it prepares to reopen tourism services next month despite an ongoing emergency in pandemic-related hospital care.

Air travelers from those countries will no longer be subject to a seven-day quarantine requirement if they hold a vaccination certificate or negative PCR test issued within the previous 72 hours, the Greek Civil Aviation Authority said.

This is the first time Americans have been allowed to travel to Greece since the country closed its borders at the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.
