Cancun Offers free hotels, meals and more!

Cancun, one of the most popular vacation spots in Mexico, is looking to welcome tourists back by offering free hotel stays, meals, hire cars and theme park entry in a new campaign.

President of the Cancun, Puerto Morelos and Isla Mujeres Hotels Association, Roberto Cintron, said: “It’s designed to reactivate holidays to our destinations after the crisis caused by Covid-19.”

The private initiative, involving more than 200 firms, will be officially launched on June 15.

The campaign offers free stays for up to two children when two adults book, or two nights for free for every two nights booked. For example, if you book a hotel for two nights, you will get the second two nights free, same with car hire. The campaign also envisages discounts on golf and spa services and theme park entry.

The offer is being promoted under the hashtag #Come2MexicanCaribbean with the message: “Enter for a chance to win a vacation for life in any of the Mexican Caribbean destinations. Starting June 2020.”

As summer season approaches, many countries are trying to figure out how to revive the travel industry. Greece has recently announced it expects to open its borders by July, Iceland said it will start welcoming tourists on June 15, Aruba expects to open by July.
