Barbados Welcomes Remote Workers To Stay For One Year And Work By The Beach

Barbados is the latest Caribbean island planning to reopen to international tourists, welcoming back visitors on July 12.

Barbados’ Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley announced the “12-month Barbados Welcome Stamp” earlier this month that would allow “persons to come and work from here overseas, digitally so, so that persons don’t need to remain in the countries in which they are,” Mottley said in a press conference.

“We want to create an environment that will allow people to come to Barbados to work, to rest, and to play from here for an extended period of time during COVID-19,” Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley said in a statement.

Details about the program are still scarce but with Barbados preparing to open its borders to international visitors again on 12 July, it may happen sooner rather than later. "We will continue to take a risk-based approach to the protection of our country, our people and our visitors," Ms Mottley previously said.

Travelers will be required to present evidence of a negative result of a PCR COVID-19 test and a bar code to clear immigration.

You can book flights to Barbados from US cities for as low as $263 for round-trip ticket:
